Mägi Ensemble in the Classroom
The Singing Revolution is one of the great examples of non-violent resistance and protest against political occupation. Mägi Ensemble can bring to life this historical push for independence in a cross-curricular presentation, tailored for middle school, high school, or adults.
kuskil peab surematus olema,
kuskil alguskokkukõla leitama:
kust oleks muidu inimese rinda saanud ta –
muusika?
By Estonian composer and conductor Pärt Uusberg (b. 1986). Original poem by Juhan Liiv
It must be somewhere, immortality,
somewhere the original harmony must be found:
how else could it infuse
the human soul,
that music?
